16 Shipton Barracks 1980: construction of Shipton Barracks and home to 6/43 Air Defense Artillery, 6/52 Air Defense Artillery and the 601st Avia- tion Support Battalion. 2006 – 2015: 412th Aviation Support Battalion Since 2018: 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment (ADA), U.S. Army Europe’s only short-range missile defense unit are stationed at Shipton Barracks. Shipton Kaserne is home to the 5-4 ADA and has a Family & MWR recreational area called Soldiers Lake close by.
