24 Franken Kaserne/Oberdachstetten Training Area 2008: Franken Kaserne, a former installation of the German Bundeswehr, is taken over by the U.S. Army for use with the adjacent Local Training Area Oberdachstetten. 2010: Theatrix, the extensive collection of theater costumes of the U.S. Forces in Europe, moves to Franken Kaserne. Franken Kaserne/Oberdachstetten Training Area is located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the city of Ansbach in the direction of Storck Barracks, Illesheim and is situated near the towns of Oberdachstetten and Marktbergel; it is used by the Military Working Dog unit, and site of special events and scout camps. Adjacent to Franken Kaserne is the Oberdachstetten Local Training Area with its Small Arms Range and obstacle course.
