Willkommensbroschüre für Soldaten - U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach

3 Cultural highlights in Ansbach The former seat of the dukes of the „House of Hohenzollern“ has left visible marks and landmarks in the city. You can feel the magic of the Rococo era when you walk around the town center and visit the Palace, our baroque synagoge or the church of St. Gumbertus. The best way to discover Ansbach’s charm and sites is joining a city tour with one of our wonderful guides. Please contact us to ask for a tour in English. We also offer tourist brochures and information about our wide range of annual events. The highlights during the year are the Rococo festival in the beginning of July, the Bachwoche Ansbach (every second year in August), the Kaspar Hauser festival (every other second year in August) the Green Night (every second year in September) and all of our markets like our Street Food market (Ansbacher Mess – Food & Feines) in spring. A must-see is definitely the Old Town festival (Altstadtfest), held every year in the beginning of June. You also have to experience the regional food, flowers and the unique flair in our market place every Wednesday and Saturday morning. The small shops and boutiques in the city center and at the shopping mall also offer interesting products and concepts like unpacked products to reduce packaging waste. Have a wonderful time and become one of us! Hopefully you will feel at home during your stay here. I encourage you to get out and about in the communities located close to your garrison, get to know the “Ansbacher” and discover the amenities our town has to offer: historic buildings like the Margraves’ Palace, the wonderful, restored Orangerie with the picturesque Hofgarten (Palace Garden) or museums in the heart of the city, shopping centers, swimming-pools, restaurants and so much more – and not to forget the many festivities held throughout the year like the Spring Fest and Fair, the Old City Festival, the Rococo Festival and the Ansbach Christmas Market. We are looking forward to celebrating these and many more throughout the coming years, finally without pandemic measures. Also, the surroundings of Ansbach are worth exploring for their variety of sporting and recreational options, for example on a bike tour with your family and friends. Again, welcome to Ansbach.
