3 As Lord Mayor of the City of Ansbach, I would like to welcome you to our wonderful city. Hopefully you will feel at home during your stay here. I encourage you to get out and about in the communities located close to your garrison, get to know the “Ansbacher” and discover all the area has to offer: historic buildings like the Margraves’ Palace, the wonderful restored Orangerie with the pictur-esque Hofgarten (Palace Garden) or museums in the heart of the city, shopping cen-ters, swimming pools, restaurants and so much more – and not to forget the many fests we celebrate throughout the year like the Spring Fest and Fair, the Old City Festival, the Rococo Festival and the Ansbach Christmas Market. We hope, we can celebrate all this in the next years without pandemic measures. Also the surroundings of Ansbach are worth to discover for example by bike with the whole family or for sports. The historical townscape and the baroque facades are giving the capital its representative look. When you stroll through the town, the impressive Orangery with its wide ranged Palace Garden, the well preserved synagogue and the ancient church of the dukes, all bear witness to the rich history of Ansbach. The best way to discover the city´s charm is listening to an enjoyable audio play which is leading you along the historic sites or to book an English guided tour with one of our city guides.In Ansbach we also do have many great events, such as the historic Rococo-Festi- val, the Old Town Festival and we are also celebrating 800 years of the city of Ansbach in 2021.
